Gatherings

Some things cannot be held in a shop. They require presence: bodies in a room, voices across a table, the particular stillness that settles when people come together with intention.

The Gatherings at Anathema are where that happens.

Markets that breathe, classes that root, workshops that leave something changed.

Whether you arrive knowing exactly why, or simply feel drawn without quite knowing the reason, there is something here that will find you.

The Witch Markets

Once a month, the Royal Arcade becomes something else entirely. Makers, readers, artists, and wanderers gather beneath its Victorian ironwork, filling the space with the scent of dried herbs, the quiet murmur of conversation, and the particular energy that only comes from people who care deeply about what they make and why they make it. There are tables of handcrafted goods, corners for quiet readings, and the kind of unhurried discovery that is increasingly rare. Come with a list, or come with nothing. Either way, you will leave with more than you expected.

The Teaching Rooms

Knowledge passed between hands is different from knowledge read on a page. Our classes and workshops are small, practical, and rooted in real tradition - herb craft, divination, ritual, seasonal practice, and more. They are led by people who have spent years learning what they teach, and held in a space that takes the work seriously. Whether you are just beginning to explore or deepening a practice you have carried for years, you will find something here worth your time.

The Healing Rooms

Some things cannot be taught, only entered into. A held silence. A breath that finally reaches all the way down. The Healing Rooms at Anathema exist for that kind of work - not lessons in the usual sense, but sessions of meditation, energy work, and group healing, where the aim is not to learn something new but to remember something old in the body.

Are you a Trader?

Trade at one of Dorset's most atmospheric independent markets, held monthly in the historic Royal Arcade in Boscombe. A gathering held with intention, in a space with history. If you make, read, or create with care, we'd like to hear from you.
